Community Supported Agriculture in Nova Scotia

A small community in Nova Scotia is implementing a new plan to help bring farmers and consumers together.  The Centre Burlington community has created a new program where consumers can buy annual shares in famers harvest and receive fresh produce in return.

These new Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) projects are appearing all over Canada. Red Fox Farms located in Centre Burlington have a number of farmers who operate the farm providing fresh produce year round.

This particular CSA farm supplies produce to around 25 households. The annual shares are usually purchased by city dwellers for about $450 a season.  Each week the customers receive a box of farm products as well as fresh produce.
