
Key Health Inequalities in Canada: A National Portrait
The report on Key Health Inequalities in Canada has been publicly released on May 28th, 2018 and it is available here along with the executive summary, Health Inequalities Data Tool and the series of infographics.
This report was developed by the Public Health Agency of Canada and the Pan-Canadian Public Health Network (PHN) in collaboration with Statistics Canada, the Canadian Institute for Health Information, and the First Nations Information Governance Centre.
The report explores 22 different social determinants of health and indicators of health status to provide the readers with the well-painted picture of social inequalities and their effects on health of various groups of individuals across Canada.
The report is intended to inform policy and help address the needs of diverse groups of Canadians. Moreover, it outlines key principles for action and practice that are based on international experience and can help advance health equity in Canada.
