This article reports the difficulty of affording a nutritious diet when earning minimum wage in Nova Scotia. It found that Nova Scotians relying on minimum wage could not afford nutritious food and meet their basic needs. It proposes that wage increases and supplements, as well as supports, are needed to address this public health problem.
